Social Protection
We strive to create safe and inclusive communities where vulnerable individuals, including women, children, Youth and refugees, can live free from violence and exploitation. Through our Zero Tolerance to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) program, we work with communities to prevent domestic violence/abuse through awareness, case management/mediations and legal representation, support survivors, and advocate for policies that promote gender equality. Our child protection initiatives ensure that children in vulnerable settings, including refugee settlements, receive care, education, and protection from harm.
Livelihoods
We believe that economic empowerment is key to transforming lives. HOPEFFU runs skill development programs in handcrafts, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship to equip individuals, especially women and youth, with marketable skills. Through partnerships with cooperatives and financial institutions, we support access to financial literacy, business development services, to help communities achieve economic independence
Environmental Conservation
Our environmental conservation efforts focus on protecting natural resources and promoting sustainable practices. Through tree planting campaigns, riverbank restoration projects, and waste management programs, we are working to safeguard ecosystems, especially along River Rwizi and within Mbarara City. We also engage local communities in climate-smart agriculture and environmental awareness campaigns to promote eco-friendly practices.
HIV Prevention Interventions
HOPEFFU is dedicated to reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS through awareness, education, and community-driven health initiatives. We collaborate with health experts, local leaders, and peer educators to provide HIV testing, counseling, and prevention services. Our focus is on empowering youth and at-risk populations with knowledge about safe practices, stigma reduction, and access to healthcare services.
Social family Intergration
Strong families are built on love, unity, and connection. Social family integration fosters understanding, respect, and support among family members, creating a sense of belonging and emotional well-being.

Advocating for family human rights means standing against violence, discrimination, and injustices that threaten family well-being. It means promoting equal opportunities, access to resources, and policies that support strong and healthy families.

To establish and maintain sustainable and self-sufficient systems within the orphanage organization, ensuring the long-term viability and effectiveness of the services provided.
